Enterprise VPN Networks

We configure virtual private networks (VPN) that allow your team to securely access company resources from any location.

Remote work is here to stay, and with it the need for employees at home, traveling, or at a coffee shop to access internal resources with the same security as if they were in the office. A well-configured enterprise VPN solves this without compromising performance or security. A poorly configured one becomes the biggest attack vector on the corporate network.

What's included?

  • Site-to-site VPN to securely connect branch offices.
  • Remote access VPN for employees working from home or traveling.
  • Data encryption, multi-factor authentication, and access policies.
  • Encryption with modern protocols (WireGuard, IKEv2, OpenVPN).
  • Configurable split tunneling based on policy: corporate traffic only or all traffic.
  • Connection logs, immediate access revocation, and auditing.

Ideal for

Companies with employees working from home who need access to internal servers, organizations with multiple branch offices that want to share resources as if they were a single network, technical teams that need to access critical infrastructure outside the office, and businesses that need to grant temporary access to vendors with strict control.

How we work

We define the policies together with you: who accesses what? Does the whole team use the VPN all the time or only for specific resources? How many sites need to be interconnected? We choose the technology based on the case: WireGuard for speed and simplicity, IKEv2 for corporate devices, OpenVPN for maximum compatibility. We configure the central server (MikroTik, Fortinet, pfSense, or cloud solutions), distribute configurations to clients, and enable MFA. We document the process for your IT team.

Which protocol fits which case

No protocol is better than another in the abstract: one is better for your situation. This is the comparison we run when choosing.

Protocol Strong at Limitation When we pick it
WireGuard Speed and a small codebase that is easier to audit. Reconnects on its own when the network changes. UDP only. User management is solved with separate tooling — it does not come built in. Remote access and branch-to-branch links where performance rules.
IKEv2 / IPsec Native client on Windows, macOS, iOS and Android: nothing to install. Uses UDP ports 500 and 4500, which some public networks block. Corporate device fleets and users moving between WiFi and mobile data.
OpenVPN Gets through almost any firewall: it can run over TCP 443, just like web traffic. More CPU load and slightly less throughput than WireGuard. Users behind restrictive networks (hotels, client sites, filtered networks).

The legacy protocols PPTP and L2TP without IPsec are no longer considered secure and we do not deploy them.

What we find when we audit existing VPNs

When a company calls us because their VPN "is slow" or "is insecure", it is almost always one of these six:

  • VPN without a second factor. One leaked credential is enough to get into the internal network as if you were an employee.
  • Flat access. Whoever comes in through the VPN reaches the whole network. Without segmentation, one compromised machine reaches everything.
  • Certificates with no expiry and no revocation list. Access for someone who no longer works there is still valid.
  • Split tunneling defined badly. Traffic that should have been encrypted goes out over the open internet.
  • Logs nobody reads. The server records connections, but nobody reviews access at odd hours or from countries where you have no staff.
  • Undersized server. The slowness blamed on the VPN is usually not enough CPU to encrypt, not the protocol.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between an enterprise VPN and a commercial VPN like NordVPN?

They solve opposite problems. A commercial VPN pushes your traffic out to the internet through another country to hide your location. An enterprise VPN does the reverse: it puts your machine inside the company network so it can reach servers, printers and internal systems as if it were in the office. Buying a commercial one gives you no access to your internal resources.

Does a VPN replace the firewall or the antivirus?

No. A VPN encrypts the channel between a device and the network — it says nothing about what travels through that channel. If the machine connecting is infected, the VPN carries the infection into the network with the door held open. The firewall filters traffic, the antivirus protects the endpoint, and the VPN connects them: three jobs that do not substitute for one another.

What happens if an employee loses their laptop?

We revoke access immediately from the central server — their certificate or credential becomes invalid even if the laptop is in someone else's hands. With MFA enabled, even if they had the certificate, they couldn't log in without the second factor. Standard process takes less than 5 minutes.

Does the VPN slow down work?

With modern protocols like WireGuard, the speed loss is minimal (2-5%). Using split tunneling, corporate traffic goes through the VPN and everything else (Netflix, social media) goes direct — without affecting your bandwidth. If they experience slowness, it's usually due to an undersized server, not the VPN itself.

Do I need specific hardware, or can it be in the cloud?

Both options are valid. On-premise (enterprise router/firewall) gives you full control and minimal latency to your internal servers. Cloud (AWS Client VPN, Cloudflare Access, Tailscale) is easier to scale and maintain. We evaluate based on your current infrastructure, number of users, and location of resources.
